GGBFS grades: S75, S95 and S105
GGBFS grade is selected by slag activity index, fineness and the governing standard. The GB/T to ASTM labels below are useful commercial cross-references; the exact limits differ, so state both the standard and grade on the purchase order.
GGBFS S75 (ASTM C989 Grade 80)
Entry grade: 28-day slag activity index ≥ 75%, Blaine fineness ≥ 350 m²/kg, glass content ≥ 85% and moisture ≤ 1.0%. Suited to mass concrete, foundations and general blended cement where cost reduction, sulfate resistance and lower heat of hydration matter more than high early strength.
GGBFS S95 (ASTM C989 Grade 100)
The workhorse grade: 7-day activity index ≥ 75%, 28-day ≥ 95%, Blaine ≥ 400 m²/kg, glass content ≥ 85% and moisture ≤ 1.0%. The default choice for ready-mix and precast, commonly at 30–50% OPC replacement.
GGBFS S105 (ASTM C989 Grade 120)
High-activity grade: 7-day activity index ≥ 95%, 28-day ≥ 115% in the published Miningsun table, Blaine ≥ 450 m²/kg, glass content ≥ 85% and moisture ≤ 1.0%. Used for high-performance, marine and high-durability concrete requiring high later strength and low permeability.
| Grade | 7-day activity | 28-day activity | Blaine | Typical selection |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S75 / Grade 80 | — | ≥ 75% | ≥ 350 m²/kg | Mass concrete and general blended cement |
| S95 / Grade 100 | ≥ 75% | ≥ 95% | ≥ 400 m²/kg | Ready-mix and precast concrete |
| S105 / Grade 120 | ≥ 95% | ≥ 115% | ≥ 450 m²/kg | High-performance and marine concrete |
