Higher Long-Term Strength

Superior 56- and 90-day compressive strength vs OPC-only mixes. Grade 120 exceeds 115% activity index at 28 days.

Sulfate & Chloride Resistance

Critical for marine, coastal, and aggressive groundwater environments. Proven performance in Gulf and Southeast Asian infrastructure projects.

Lower Heat of Hydration

Significantly reduces thermal cracking risk in mass concrete pours, raft foundations, and large structural elements.

Up to 40% CO₂ Reduction

50% cement replacement with GGBFS dramatically lowers embodied carbon — increasingly required by green building standards and ESG mandates.

Flexible Packaging & Incoterms

25 kg PP bags, 1 MT / 1.5 MT jumbo bags, or bulk vessel loading. FOB, CIF, and CFR available from Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, and Lianyungang.

Full Export Documentation

COA, MTC, CO, MSDS, and third-party inspection (SGS / BV / CIQ) available. All paperwork handled by our experienced export team.

Technical Data

Specifications by Grade

Three activity grades aligned with ASTM C989. Grade 100 is the most commonly specified for ready-mix and precast concrete worldwide; Grade 120 is preferred for high-performance and marine applications.

Applications

Where Our Customers Use GGBFS

From port construction in the Gulf to high-rise foundations in Southeast Asia — GGBFS is specified wherever durability, sustainability, and long service life matter.

Marine & Port Infrastructure

Sea walls, breakwaters, harbor foundations, and offshore platforms in chloride-rich environments.

Mass Concrete

Dams, raft foundations, nuclear containment — large pours where heat of hydration control is critical.

Bridges & Highway Works

Decks, piers, abutments exposed to de-icing salts, traffic loads, and aggressive groundwater.

Ready-Mix Concrete

Improved workability, finishability, and pumpability for residential and commercial projects.

Precast & Prestressed

Smoother surface finish, reduced efflorescence, consistent architectural color at scale.

Cement Blending Plants

Direct bulk supply for PSC / PBFC blending at clinker grinding and cement production facilities.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between GGBFS Grade 80, 100, and 120?
The grades refer to the 28-day slag activity index as defined by ASTM C989. Grade 80 achieves a minimum 75% activity index at 28 days and is suitable for general concrete where cost is the priority. Grade 100 (min 95% at 28 days) is the most widely used grade for ready-mix, precast, and infrastructure concrete. Grade 120 (min 115% at 28 days) is specified for high-performance concrete, marine structures, and projects requiring maximum durability. Higher grades are also more finely ground, resulting in faster reactivity.
What is the typical cement replacement rate for GGBFS?
GGBFS is typically used at 30–70% replacement of Portland cement by weight. For general ready-mix concrete, 30–50% is common. For marine and aggressive environment applications, 50–70% replacement is recommended to maximize sulfate and chloride resistance. Replacement above 70% may slow early strength gain and requires mix design adjustment.
Does GGBFS reduce early strength compared to OPC?
Yes, GGBFS concrete typically has slightly lower 3- and 7-day strengths compared to 100% OPC mixes, because slag hydration is slower at early ages. However, 28-day and long-term (56- and 90-day) strengths are equal to or higher than OPC-only concrete. For projects with early formwork stripping requirements, the mix design should account for this — Grade 120 minimizes the early strength gap.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for GGBFS?
For containerized shipments (25 kg bags or jumbo bags), MOQ is 25 metric tons — typically one 20ft container. For bulk vessel loading, minimum order is 3,000 MT. Trial container orders are accepted for new buyers conducting mix design qualification. Contact our sales team to discuss your volume and timeline.
Is Chinese GGBFS compliant with EN 15167-1 for European projects?
Our GGBFS meets the chemical and physical requirements of EN 15167-1. However, formal CE marking under EN 15167-1 requires third-party certification by a European notified body, which is the responsibility of the importer or end-user in the EU. We provide full COA and technical documentation to support your compliance process. For non-EU markets specifying EN 15167-1 as a reference standard, our product documentation is typically accepted directly.
