Silica fume grades and specification checks

Silica Fume Grade 85 (SiO2 ≥ 85%)
Standard microsilica: SiO2 ≥ 85%, pozzolanic activity index ≥ 95% and LOI ≤ 10%. A cost-effective option for general high-strength concrete, shotcrete, grout and refractory formulations. Available densified (500–700 kg/m³) or undensified. Confirm every project limit on the lot COA; the grade name alone does not establish ASTM C1240 compliance.
Silica Fume Grade 90 (SiO2 ≥ 90%)
SiO2 ≥ 90%, activity index ≥ 100% and LOI ≤ 8%. The workhorse grade for high-performance concrete, precast and marine work requiring higher pozzolanic activity and lower permeability. Available densified or undensified.
Silica Fume Grade 92 (SiO2 ≥ 92%, high purity)
SiO2 ≥ 92%, activity index ≥ 105% and LOI ≤ 6%. This published grade reaches the ASTM C1240 activity and LOI thresholds and is used for UHPC, refractory, oil-well cementing and demanding durability specifications. Final compliance is confirmed against all required lines on the batch COA.
